View larger. | Gameplay UFC Undisputed 2010 is a fighting game that places players in the iconic mixed martial arts fighting cage, known as the octagon, with the most devastating MMA fighters to be found in the UFC. As with the original UFC 2009 Undisputed game, action plays out in one-on-one fights in which the player, utilizes a mix of fighting styles which are balanced between striking techniquesa standing gameand grappling techniquesa ground game. Because the strength, experience and fighting style of opponents will vary, it is important to develop both a standing and ground game in order to defeat opponents by knockout, submission or by a decision depending on an opponent's weakness and/or the opportunities encountered during a match. The game features representations of more than 100 top name UFC fighters, each of which utilizes fighting styles representative of the actual fighter. Along with this realism, the game contains customization options that allow the player to create a fighter of their own with various styles, and/or attire and tattoos. Additional features new to UFC Undisputed 2010 include: the addition of Sambo, Karate and Greco-Roman Wrestling fighting styles; the ability to switch to a southpaw stance at any time; new strikes, submissions, transitions; the ability to change submissions mid-attack; an enhanced Career Mode; and improved online play allowing for 16-player tournaments, online fight camps, co-op sparring and more. Ultimate Fights Mode Ultimate Fights Mode is the evolution of UFC 2009's Classic Fights Mode allowing players to relive some of the more memorable fights in UFC history. Players can play the mode as a single player experience in an attempt to unlock content associated with each fight or play as a two-player experience, squaring off against friends with special presentation and commentary elements. The main difference between Classic Fights from UFC 2009 and the Ultimate Fights for UFC Undisputed 2010 is the introduction of Fight Categories and Multiple Challenges for each fight. Assigning each fight to a category helps structure the mode and allows players to easily identify each type of fight, while the introduction of Multiple Challenges for each fight adds replayability to the mode. You may also "play as the spoiler" and provide additional challenges and unlocks associated with the losing fighter, where players look to "rewrite history." Key Game Features - UFC Fighters and Personalities - Navigate an unparalleled roster of more than 100 prolific UFC fighters, each fully rendered to convey a photorealistic appearance. Prominent UFC personalities, including the commentary team of Joe Rogan and Mike Goldberg, veteran voice of the Octagon Bruce Buffer, Octagon Girls, referees, trainers and more return to showcase an authentic and memorable UFC video game experience.
- Enhanced Combat - Step into the Octagon with improved combat. UFC Undisputed 2010!!!! June 7, 2010 John Floyd (Glen Burnie, Maryland United States) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
First off let me say that I am a huge fighting game fan, this game has far surpassed UFC Undisputed 2009. The graphics are beautiful, the ability to create your own fighter and choose what moves you want him to do (down to each punch) is such a huge advancement from the previous game. Career mode has been expanded and is a little bit more realistic (if you don't train certain areas then those skill s will decay) which I found out the hard way.
Now that was the good things, lets hit the things that need improvement.....
Animations - I think they tried to put too much in the game and at certain times the animations will get kinda screwed up. My guy has a rolling leg lock from his back and when I perform that move it doesn't even show me grabing my opponent until the submission is fully initiated (he just sits there and looks at me). The clinch sometimes moves from the clinch will cause the animations to go crazy.
Moves - There are some characters that have unstopable moves ie.. Machida's leg trip takedown, no matter what I do I cannot stop that takedown. very unbalanced.
XBOX Live - Okay heres the biggest issues that plagues UFC Undisputed 2010, If I just want to do a "Quick Match" 99% of the time it will tell me the seesion is no longer available, The lag that is in the game (atleast for me, and I have a 10Mb cable connection) is unbearable. By the time the match finally synch's up my opponent has left the game!
All in all it's a good game, very fun and very challenging. I just wish the online work a little better, but apparently THQ is addressing this issue so we will see. I recommend this game if you like MMA, Fighting games or anything that promotes competetion between friends.
Great Game with A Glaring Flaw June 23, 2010 Libertarian! (USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The follow up for the excellent original title has been launched. Will the series fall into the usual sports annual release malaise of small, incremental changes being hyped up as being huge to justify a retail price?
Fortunately, this is a new franchise (these seem to have little in common with the last gen UFC titles), so they have enough room to grow for a year or two. In this case, they've introduced a wealth of game modes. The career mode is the meat, with you going through 12 years of a career to become a Hall of Famer.
The controls have been simplified. I am able to avoid being pinned to the mat for entire rounds. True, I decided to focus on striking offense and ground defense, but the controls were still much easier to handle.
They also try to make rep more important. You can only unlock new trainers or new sparring partners when your rep and cred are high enough. The means of gaining rep, credibility, and popular are more than a bit boring. Interviews after the fight are boring. Public workouts are boring. Appearing at shows is boring. Weigh-in confrontations are boring. If these activities cannot be made more enjoyable, they shouldn't return.
The new addition of friends and rivals is a key addition. You can have feuds now and beating your rival gets you more cred than regular fights. If you train with a friend, you get stat bonuses. This is a brilliant little addition that isn't enough to hype as a major deal, but does provide a fun diversion.
Even with all of the pluses, there are major negatives. Load times are ridiculously long. 2-3 minutes to start a game is ridiculous and it seems to be consistently that slow. Visually, the fighters appear more plasticky than last year and clipping and issues of moves being stuck during transitions seems to be way more prevalent. And the irritating insistance that you pay $10 to play online if the game isn't bought new --- and the request is repeated every time, even if you say no repeatedly --- is infuriating. Asking once would be irritating, having to do it repeatedly is a waste of time.
Great Game, Good Pickup for all MMA fans! June 7, 2010 L. Divine (Los Angeles, CA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Picked up Undisputed the day of release, have been super impressed thus far. Online was a bit buggy, and it's still a huge lay and pray game which is a bit annoying but overall the game has improved immensely. Career mode is sick; so much customization it's rediculous; it couldn't be anymore real! The graphics are great, the game play is much more fluid.. overall it's just a huge improvement from '09. If you're a fan of MMA; or enjoyed 09 this should def. be on your future game wishlist!
One of those games that you must play... June 4, 2010 yoyoduomagic (Florida,USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I play UFC Games since Dreamcast time.
In UFC 2009, i think that much people could saw, the step that would take a next version.
And the next version is here, i take some days in writing this review because I want to make a good review, after play several hours, I can assure that the game has evolved in many aspects, now is more realistic.
You can enjoy even a cpu vs cpu match, i am very pleased, because you not only going to see the UFC narrators in 3D you also going to listen the real voices of the fighters being spoken on as they would act in the fight.
For all the fans of fight games, this is one of those games that you must play
UFC 2010 marks an now in fight games, surely other companies will have to follow this line to not remain in the past
The only bad thing for now and for me is the fact that the game need a fix or patch to solve a little problem with some cuts and hurts that gone when you past to other round
For now: 92pts/100pts later with the fix 100/100
You want to be a winner? this is how.........

ufc undisputed user name in title.
To all mma fans out there, welcome to the world of online mma video gaming. This is by far the best mma, well the best fighting game to ever come out on any console. There are so many improvements from ufc 2009, that it is completely reinvented. The stand-up is amazing, and the sway system is a must. The new cage gameplay is wonderful and there are over double the moves from last years game. EA SPORTS better step up there game even if they want to be considered a runner up on fighting games.
Great job THQ
